Padded Duster
A garment made slowly, entirely by hand over the course of a month. Each duster is hand-stitched, hand-patched, and hand-quilted using antique linen - a process akin to traditional quilt-making, but led by intuition rather than blueprint.
No two are the same. Each piece is shaped by subtle decisions: a fabric’s edge, a feeling in the fingertips, the time of day.
Stitched entirely with 100% silk thread, and adorned with hand-formed ceramic charms - small anchors of care that move gently with the garment.
So far, only three have been made. One lives with Anny W., two with Poštolka in Kobe. In the time it took to finish, the padded dusters traveled across continents with thread and needles still attached - from the morning sunlight in the NYC studio to the Taipei misty air, to Monument Valley’s vast stillness, and the breeze of Taitung by the sea.
